No want to for a check valve. The perforations on the rubber are only microns thick so when there is not any airflow the rubber membrane seals itself so no check valve is required. The rubber cover itself is a check valve. There are no holes in the center so when pressure is reduced, the rubber collapses over the air inlet, sealing it to backflow.
